SUMMARY
To work with the Chief Financial Officer to perform accounts payable and administrative functions of the Finance department.
Position Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED required, Associates Degree in accounting or business preferred.
- 2-3 years' experience with accounts payable or general accounting.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining accounting records in a small to mid-sized company.
- Ability to pay very close attention to detail.
- Ability and willingness to accept direction and follow established Policies and Procedures.
- Ability and willingness to work harmoniously with community members and staff.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Strong analytic abilities.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Have good interpersonal skills and ability to work with others including outside vendors.
- Strong ability in communicating with diverse groups of people both verbally and in writing without being understood
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office knowledge and ability to learn new software.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform accounts payable and administrative functions of the Finance Department
- Accurately review, code and process vendor invoices.
- Process check requests and expense reports on a regular basis.
- Monitor vendor payment terms and discount opportunities and verify federal id numbers.
- Perform monthly vendor statement reconciliations.
- Maintain a large number of vendor accounts while staying in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Perform data entry associated with accounts payable.
- Audit and process credit card bills.
- Maintain accounting and ensure accuracy of transactions.
- Assist with financial administration of employee benefits.
- Manage vendor relationships and reconcile invoice and payment discrepancies.
- Address and respond to vendor inquiries.
- Assist with monthly closing procedures.
- Other duties assigned by Management.
